At Humanitas High School we are proud to offer an immense breadth of opportunities to honour the individual aspirations of a wide range of learners.
We are one of only a few schools in Australia to offer both the IB Diploma Programme and IB Career-related Programme. We are also a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), and currently offer a Certificate III in Visual Arts on site. At Humanitas we support students, in partnership with families, to opt into the senior pathway that suits them best:
IB Diploma Programme (IBDP); or
IB Career-related Programme (IBCP);
Learning in Years 11 and 12 at Humanitas carries on from our three curriculum components in Years 7 to 10: curriculum offerings; individual projects; and community projects.
In the IB Diploma Programme (DP), students select six discipline-based subjects; design an Extended Essay individual inquiry; and engage in Creative, Active, and community-linked Service experiences of their choosing.
In the IB Career-related Programme (CP), students select two to four discipline-based subjects plus Career-Related Studies, such as a Cert II or III, supported by core Personal and Professional Skills; produce an individual Reflective Project; and engage in Language Development and Service Learning in the community. As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), Humanitas is able to offer a Certificate III in Visual Arts on site, as an in-house option for Career-Related Studies. Beyond this, there are so many VET options available with external providers e.g. TAFE.
